Why are vaccinations important for children?

Vaccinations are essential to protect children from serious infectious diseases such as measles, polio, whooping cough, and hepatitis. They help strengthen the child’s immune system and protect the wider community from outbreaks.

We provide a comprehensive range of vaccines including: MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), oral and inactivated polio vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis (DTP), hepatitis A and B, rotavirus, Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), chickenpox (varicella), acellular pertussis, and meningococcal (ACW135Y).

All vaccines used are licensed, internationally approved, and meet the highest safety standards. They are only administered after ensuring the child’s readiness and overall health condition.

Some children may experience mild side effects such as redness or swelling at the injection site or a slight fever. These symptoms are normal and usually disappear within a few days. Serious side effects are extremely rare.

If a dose is missed, it is important to visit the Vaccination Unit as soon as possible. The doctor will provide a catch-up schedule to ensure your child completes all required doses for full protection.

Yes, some vaccines such as tetanus, hepatitis, and meningococcal vaccines are also available for adults, especially for travelers, healthcare workers, and those performing Hajj or Umrah.
